Cheese Straws

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon each of sugar & baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat cheese and butter with a mixer on medium speed until smooth.

Roll dough out on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thick and cut into two dozen 2-inch strips or transfer dough in batches to a cookie press fitted with a star plate and press out 2-inch strips on to an un-greased cookie sheet.

Bake until straws begin to brown, about 15 minutes.
