IHop Copycat French Toast
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons flour
6 slices of thick-cut french bread
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons salted butter
Tablespoon of sugar
100% Pure maple syrup
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla extract and all-purpose flour. Whisk together until the batter is smooth, uniform and starts to bubble slightly.
In a medium fry pan, add the butter and heat at medium until the butter is melted and starts to sizzle slightly (about 1-2 minutes).
Meanwhile, dip one slice of french bread into the egg mixture and submerge until the whole slice is covered. Remove from the mixing bowl and place on your preheated frying pan.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
Repeat the process with the remaining slices of bread.
Serve immediately and top with option ingredients: maple syrup, sliced banana, sliced strawberries, sugar, salt, chopped walnuts or pecans, cinnamon and/or whipped cream.
