1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

In a smaller bowl beat eggs, melted butter and buttermilk together with a whisk.

Add to flour mixture and mix with a spoon just enough to wet all the ingredients.

Pour mixture into a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan that has just the bottom of the pan sprayed or greased.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Allow to cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
