Ingredients:
2 cups fresh or frozen green beans
1 tbsp. olive oil or coconut oil - optional, for extra crispiness
1 tbsp. nutritional yeast - optional, for extra flavor and vitamins
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 250°F. Low temperature is key for dehydrating the beans properly without burning them.
If using fresh green beans, wash them thoroughly and trim off the ends. Cut them into bite-sized pieces. If using frozen green beans, let them thaw slightly before patting them dry with a paper towel.
For extra crunchiness, toss the green beans in a light drizzle of olive oil or coconut oil.
Sprinkle nutritional yeast over the green beans. This ingredient adds a cheesy, nutty flavor while providing extra vitamins, especially B vitamins, which are great for your dog’s energy levels.
Spread the green beans out in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Make sure they’re not overlapping too much so they can get crispy.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 2-3 hours.
Stir the green beans every 30-45 minutes to ensure they dehydrate evenly. They’re done when they are completely dry and crispy to the touch.
Remove the green beans from the oven and let them cool completely before serving.
