Sourdough Starter
Ingredients
3 tbsp. instant mashed potatoes
3 tbsp. white sugar
1 cup water
2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
Directions
Combine potatoes, sugar, water and yeast in a covered container. Let sit for 5 days stirring daily with a wooden spoon.
On morning of day 5 feed starter 3 tbsp. potatoes, 3 tbsp. sugar, and 1 cup warm water.
In the evening, take out 1 cup and use in a sourdough recipe. Refrigerate remaining starter.
every 5 days add 3 tbsp. potatoes, 3 tbsp. sugar, and 1 cup warm water. If you want to use it for a recipe let it stand room temp for 6 hours.
Keep in fridge and take out 1 cup for cooking each time and repeat 3 tbsp. potatoes, 3 tbsp. sugar, and 1 cup warm water.
Repeat each time you take some out by adding 3 tbsp. potatoes, 3 tbsp. sugar, and 1 cup warm water.
