Ingredients

1 pound mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks

1 cup flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 tsp. Italian seasoning

1 tsp. garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

vegetable oil for frying

marinara sauce for dipping

Directions

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for the beaten eggs, and one for the breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Take each mozzarella stick and first coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the stick in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Repeat this process for all the cheese sticks.

Once all the cheese sticks are breaded, heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Carefully add the cheese sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the cheese sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Serve the mozzarella cheese sticks warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
